Dr Aaron Poh’s subspecialty is in colorectal surgery and trauma surgery. He also has a special interest in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, minimally invasive gallbladder and hernia surgery, surgery for complex anorectal conditions (eg.haemorrhoids, anal fistula, anal fissure, pilonidal disease, faecal incontinence, rectal prolapse, and anal cancer), advanced endoscopy, colonic stenting, and rib fracture fixation.

The endoscopic procedures that Dr Aaron Poh performs include gastroscopy and colonoscopy, with emphasis on advanced procedures such as complex polyp removal with EndoscopicMucosal Resection (EMR) and colonic stenting. Colonic stenting is particularly advantageous in helping patients with obstructed colon cancers avoid having a permanent stoma.

Dr Poh graduated from the National University of Singapore in2004 and was accepted into the general surgery training programme in the following year. He completed his training in advanced laparoscopic surgery, pelvic exenteration and surgery for inflammatory bowel disease at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital,Birmingham, in 2014.
