Dr. Wai has over two decades of experience in the medical field, and he has worked as a Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist at the National University Hospital since 2003. He received his MBBS from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1994 and went on to obtain his MRCP and MMed in 1998. He became a qualified gastroenterologist in 2002.

Dr. Wai’s quest for knowledge and expertise led him to the University of Michigan, where he conducted research and clinical fellowship in hepatology under the mentorship of Professor Anna Lok, a world-renowned hepatologist and past president of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
