Professional Profile:

Dr Francis Chin has a diverse background in medical and radiation oncology. He received scholarships from the Singapore and British governments and participated in an EU sponsored MSc in radiation biology, where he was the first student from Asia to attend this prestigious programme.

For 20 years, Dr Chin worked with the National Cancer Center in Singapore and continues to be a visiting consultant at KK Women and Children’s Hospital. He is the Deputy Chair of the Institutional Research Boards in Oncology/Hematology at SingHealth and a member of the SingHealth Quality Assurance Committee.

Dr Chin is passionate about the continual improvement of radiation oncology and leads several Quality Assurance Improvement projects teams. He holds an academic appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor and is a recognised local and regional expert in radiation biology.

He was the president-elect of the South East Asian Radiation Oncology Group and is currently an editorial board member of the Royal College of Radiologist, UK. In addition, he is accredited in Palliative Medicine since 2011 and provides end-of-life care for patients with advanced cancer.

Dr Chin has experience across a range of cancers with a particular interest in paediatrics, soft tissue sarcoma, gynaecological conditions, and gastrointestinal cancers.
