Dr. Melissa Teo is an accredited surgical oncologist with expertise in managing various types of cancers, including gastrointestinal, pelvic and peritoneal, sarcomas, and melanomas. She is among the few accredited surgical oncologists in the country and region, and she has held leadership positions, including Head of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre.

Dr. Teo received her medical degree from the National University of Singapore and completed her general surgical training at Singapore General Hospital and National Cancer Centre Singapore. She then pursued two fellowships in surgical oncology and colorectal surgery at the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2009.

She has a keen interest in health policies and obtained a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, USA. She co-chaired the gastrointestinal oncology and was a member of the sarcoma, melanoma, and cancer genetics Cancer Service Line development in SingHealth. In addition, Dr. Teo is the first President of the Asian Peritoneal Surface

Malignancy Group, where she has used her vast experience in Cytoreductive Surgery and Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (CRS and HIPEC) for treating peritoneal disease.
