Professional Profile:

Dr Robert Lim has extensive experience in the fields of internal medicine, medical oncology, and haematology. He graduated from the University of St Andrews and the University of Edinburgh, where he earned his medical degree (MBChB). He then completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, Haematology, and Medical Oncology at The New York Hospital – Cornell University Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr Lim is certified by the American Board in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Haematology, and is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. Since his return to Singapore in 1998, he has focused on treating gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic cancers, and has played a key role in developing new drug treatments and enhancing understanding of the unique challenges faced by Asians with cancer.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Lim has co-authored several influential studies in colon and pancreatic cancer that have

shaped clinical practice. He has also been instrumental in training many doctors in internal medicine and oncology, providing mentorship and guidance as a member of the Specialist Training Committee in Medical Oncology.

Dr Lim has held numerous leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as the Head of the Department of Haematology- Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) from 2005 to 2011, as well as an Associate Director of NCIS and a council member of Dover Park Hospice, where he chaired their medical professional audit committee.
