Dr Sharon Koh is a specialist in General Surgery with subspecialties in colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and endoscopy. She completed her medical training and advanced surgical training at the National University Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, followed by a fellowship of colorectal surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, USA.

During her fellowship, Dr Koh focused on inflammatory bowel disease and has published several peer-reviewed papers on the subject. She is also interested in endoscopic management of gastrointestinal lesions and has published papers and a book chapter on the topic. Dr Koh has participated in several GlobalSurg Collaborative cohort studies and is a member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons and the European Society of Coloproctology.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Koh believes in extending her medical care beyond the hospital and has been involved in several outreach programs, including the Surgical Outreach for Underprivileged committee and the F1 Grand Prix medical support team. She also participated in the Ministry of Health’s Value Driven Care project for haemorrhoidectomy, which emphasizes the importance of patient well-being in providing holistic and quality care.

Currently, Dr Koh is a senior clinical lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, where she is involved in training the next generation of surgeons.
