Dr Tan Yew Oo is a distinguished medical professional and an expert in the field of oncology. He served as the Professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and also held the position of Chief of Medicine at National University Hospital (NUH) along with being the Head of the Division of Haematology-Oncology.
During his tenure at NUS, which lasted from 1978 to 1993, Dr Tan played a key role in establishing the specialty of Medical Oncology at National University Hospital. He is renowned for his clinical expertise in various areas of cancer treatment, including breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer and lymphoma.
