Professional Profile:

Dr. Ren Yong has extensive training in pelvic and hip reconstruction. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore and completed his orthopaedic surgical training in Singapore before pursuing subspecialty training in Switzerland. After completing his training, he returned to Singapore and served as the Head of Orthopaedic Trauma at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital until 2019.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Yong is also passionate about teaching and has been actively involved in teaching both undergraduate students and orthopaedic residents. He was appointed as Adjunct Assistant Professor by the National University of Singapore in 2018 and has been heavily involved in undergraduate teaching since then. He was also appointed as core orthopaedic faculty by the National Healthcare Group Orthopaedic Residency Program in 2014 and has coached multiple batches of residents.

Dr. Yong is also active in the international trauma scene and has been involved in the AO Trauma Asia Pacific, Singapore Council since 2014. He started as a hospital representative and is currently the Singapore Council’s Community Development Officer.

With his extensive knowledge and experience, Dr. Yong is well-versed in a range of general orthopaedic procedures, as well as minimally invasive procedures and fracture surgery. He has a particular focus on treating fractures of both the upper and lower limbs in elderly patients. He is also highly skilled in joint surgery for sporting injuries and arthritis of the joints.
