Dr Anandakumar Vellasamy is a skilled orthopaedic specialist surgeon with a subspecialty interest in complex foot and ankle conditions, lower limb trauma, and sports injuries. He focuses on minimally invasive surgical techniques for a broad range of foot and ankle disorders, including sports injuries, ligament injuries, tendinopathies, arthroscopic surgery, forefoot deformities, foot pain, diabetic foot ulcers, Charcot’s joints and wounds, fractures, correction of flat feet, bunions, high-arched feet, and arthritis. Dr Ananda is particularly skilled in performing lateral total ankle replacement surgery for end-stage ankle arthritis.

He graduated with an MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 2003, pursued postgraduate training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Singapore, and obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan(HMDP) Award in 2016 for “The Way Forward in Delivering World Class Care in Foot and Ankle Surgery” and completed his fellowship training in Switzerland under renowned surgeons. Dr Ananda has a reputation for his repertoire of minimally invasive surgical techniques, including the all-inside (knotless) technique for the Brostrum Gould Reconstruction for ankle instability.

He has previously served as a consultant at the Singapore General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital, and his current practice focuses on addressing complex foot and ankle disorders using minimally invasive surgical techniques.
