Dr. Cho Li Wei is an accredited Endocrinologist, registered to practise in Singapore and United Kingdom (UK). Her subspecialty interest is in reproductive endocrinology, particularly in the management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). With over 15 years of experience in endocrinology, she is experienced in managing patients with diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, male and female reproductive endocrinology, calcium disorders, Vitamin D and electrolyte imbalances, pituitary and adrenal diseases, hypertension, obesity and lipid disorders. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physician, London (UK) and also Fellow of the Academy Medicine Singapore.

Dr. Cho completed her undergraduate medical training at University of Glasgow (UK) in 1999 and obtained her membership to the Royal College of Physician (MRCP) in 2002. Following her graduation, she completed her postgraduate training Certificate of Training (CCT) from the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board(UK) with dual accreditation in Diabetes and Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine in 2009. In that same year, she was awarded her Doctorate in Medicine (MD) from the University of Hull (UK) in Diabetes and Endocrinology with her thesis titled “Cardiometabolic Aspects in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome”, under the direct guidance of Prof. Stephen Atkin and Prof. Eric Kilpatrick.

Prior to joining private practice, she relocated to Singapore to work as a Consultant Endocrinologist at Changi General Hospital (CGH). During her decade-long service at CGH, she was appointed Programme Director for Diabetes at the Eastern Health Alliance (EHA) Health Management Unit, an extended service provided by CGH to provide telehealth services to patients living in the East of Singapore to manage their diabetes in the community. With a keen interest in public health, Dr. Cho pursued a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2013 under the sponsorship of CGH and graduated with distinction.

Aside from her medical duties, Dr. Cho held a secondary post as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University Hospital (NUH). She was an appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School while she was with CGH.

She is passionate about research and had published extensively, with more than 30 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, with her works cited in over 500 scientific articles. She has also been awarded research grants from the Ministry of Health, Singapore and the SingHealth Foundation.

As a long-term supporter for patient-centred care, Dr. Cho takes great pride in understanding her patients and planning customised treatments to support them in managing their conditions. She believes that in the management of diabetes and all chronic endocrine conditions, patient empowerment and working together towards a mutually agreed goal is vital to achieve the best clinical outcome.

As a mother of two children, Dr. Cho enjoys baking and spending time with her family on the weekends. She is able to converse fluently in English, Bahasa, Mandarin, and Chinese dialects (Cantonese, Hakka and Hokkien), with experience in treating both local and expatriate patients.
