Dr. Felicia Tan completed her post-graduate training in general surgery at the National Cancer Centre Singapore and Singapore General Hospital. She chose to specialize in breast surgery and has since become an expert in her field.

Dr. Tan has worked as an associate consultant at Kerdang Kerbau Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and as a consultant surgeon at Raffles Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and has specialist accreditation in General Surgery in Singapore. She has been recognized for her contributions to medicine and breast cancer, including the Top 40 under 40 Achiever award by Prestige Singapore in 2015 and the Great Women of Our Time award by Singapore Women’s Weekly in 2020.

Dr. Tan’s clinical focus is on breast cancer treatment and the use of various surgical techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients. She specializes in breast conservation surgery (lumpectomy), nipple and skin-sparing mastectomies with immediate breast reconstruction, and other breast surgical procedures. Dr. Tan introduced the radioisotope occult lesion localization (ROLL) procedure in Singapore, which is used to locate non-palpable breast lesions and micro-calcifications for surgical excision.

Dr. Tan is also actively involved in breast cancer awareness and research. Her current research interests include breast oncology and understanding breast cancer in young women. Her research background in translational medicine allows her to use molecular and genetic profiling of tumor subtypes to identify biomarkers, which can assist in diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of cancer.

Dr. Tan is a sought-after speaker and lecturer on breast cancer related issues both locally and internationally. She also leads regular medical mission trips to Bali, Cambodia, Maldives, India, UAE, and Vietnam, where she offers free breast cancer screenings and treatment.
