Dr. Jaideep Raj Rao has over 20 years of experience in the field of gastroenterology, specialising in various areas such as Minimal Access & Robotic surgery, Bariatric & Metabolic surgery, Gastrointestinal surgery, Oncology surgery & Hernia and Complex abdominal wall reconstruction.

Dr. Rao completed his basic and advanced surgical training in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, Singapore. He received a National Healthcare Human and Manpower Development Plan fellowship by the Ministry of Health in 2007 for advance Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery. In 2008, Dr. Rao completed his fellowship in Seoul National University Hospital and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea.

Prior to founding JR Surgery, Dr. Rao served as the Senior Consultant & Head of Upper Gastrointestinal, Bariatric & Minimal Access Surgery and Director of the Bariatric surgery program at Tan Tock Seng Hospital for the last 10 years. He is also a founding member and Ex-president of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore (OMSSS), President of the Singapore Hernia Society, and a member of various international surgical organisations.

Dr. Rao is involved in clinical research and has several publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has also been a core faculty of the Surgical Residency program in Singapore and a Clinical Teacher at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Dr. Rao has received numerous international awards and honors, including being conferred as an International honorary member of the Korean Laparoscopic Surgery Society, Chilean Surgical Society, and Peruvian Surgical Society.
