With over two decades of experience, Dr Thomas is an expert in functional neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, microvascular decompression surgery, neuro-oncology, radiosurgery, and the treatment of spinal disorders.

Before joining the Immanuel Centre for Neurosurgery, Dr Thomas worked as a Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon at the National Neuroscience Institute from 2004 to 2015, where he served at both the SGH and TTSH campuses. He also held the position of Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at SGH.

Dr Thomas is particularly interested in functional neurosurgery, which focuses on the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders through deep brain stimulation. He is also an expert in microvascular decompression surgery, a treatment for hemifacial spasm and trigeminal neuralgia, and has extensive experience in the treatment of benign or malignant brain and spine tumors.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Thomas is actively involved in research and has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.
