Professional Profile:

Dr. Lim Xue Yan graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2004, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She obtained her postgraduate qualification with Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) in 2010. In 2013, she attained her accreditation from the Specialist Accreditation Board as a Specialist in Paediatrics Medicine. She was later conferred a Fellowship by the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Dr. Lim specialises in general paediatrics, which includes newborn and well-baby screening, childhood immunisation, developmental assessment and behavioural care advice, nutrition and growth advice, as well as the management of common childhood conditions like asthma.

Having trained in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, Dr. Lim has served in various sub-speciality departments for over 10 years.

Currently, she is actively involved in educating undergraduates and postgraduates. Since 2010, she has been a part of the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Undergraduate Training Committee. From 2010 to 2012, Dr. Lim was the Chief Resident in the Department of Paediatrics. From 2013 on, she started serving as Clinical Physician Faculty Member of Paediatric Residency. Between 2014 and 2015, she served as the Deputy Programme Director of Transitional Year Residency.

Dr. Lim is a member of Singapore Paediatric Society, and Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

Research-wise, she has co-authored numerous articles and papers in the paediatric community.

In recognition of her commitment to this speciality, she was awarded both the Nestlé Gold Medal in Paediatrics and the SingHealth Outstanding House Officer Award in 2005.
