Dr Whang Hwee Yong has extensive experience in cancer research, diagnosis, and treatment. She completed her initial medical oncology training at the prestigious Royal Marsden Hospital in London and then pursued further fellowship training at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Dr Whang is a distinguished member of several international medical organisations, including the Royal College of Physicians (UK), American Association of Cancer Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American College of Physicians (ACP). She has over 60 peer reviewed publications in leading international journals and has been invited to speak at numerous international meetings.

During her tenure at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr Whang served as a faculty member in the Department of Medicine and was actively involved in research activities as the principal investigator for Phase I/II developmental therapeutics and other research protocols for the treatment of breast cancer, brain tumors, and central nervous system metastases. She has a special interest in cancer research related to chemotherapy and clinical pharmacology, breast, central nervous system, and hepatic metastases.

Dr Whang has a wide-ranging practice and is particularly interested in patient care related to solid tumors, including breast, gynecological, and liver cancers. Her expertise and experience make her a valuable asset to the medical community and a respected authority in the field of medical oncology.
